We made it home and everyone is happy. The kids met us in the yard and couldn’t wait to see Levi. Even though they came to the hospital, they were not able to see him. The doctor’s appointments went well today and we will have a few more over the next several weeks.
His head and spine ultrasound revealed everything that we already knew. There were a couple of other complications that happened at birth that we were unaware of, but they seem to be better. After the ultrasound, we met with the director of the genetics department and he looked at the images and at Levi. Right now he suggests that we see the neurologist as scheduled and let him lead the way in monitoring Levi’s progress. They going to call us in the next two days to let us know if anything particular concerns them about the ultrasound. Then in two months we will go to the cardiologist and the genetics director (the director wanted to see him again when Levi was able to interact with him a little). On Thursday we will visit our normal pediatrician to check on Levi’s growth.
For now, there is nothing that demands immediate attention, but we will be making many more visits to the neurology department. There is still no way to know for sure the obstacles that Levi will face, but we know who is able to overcome them all. God did amazing things while we were in the hospital and we are looking forward to what else he will do in Levi’s life. Thank you all for your prayers and support. Wanted you both to know I have been praying for you. It has been both hard and easy for me to lift you all up in prayer. Hard because it was a lot like reliving the birth of our twins and all the wonder and waiting. Easy, because I knew of the many obstacles and ups and downs emotionally and even spiritually of facing a challenge like the one you face. If I may, allow me to remind you in the most loving way that I can, to not let your other 3 children feel neglected. Kids perceive things differently than we do, and often we let them down without even knowing it. As you go through this season, and extra bit of attention for each one will go a long way in keeping your whole family close. Blessings to all!!!

have touched Levi’s little body and your will is welcome and expected for this family.
Please watch over Levi every minute of the day and be with his parents, doctors and all that come in contact with Levi to meet his needs.
